Environment Canada has placed Niagara under a snow-squall watch.
The following is the text of the advisory issued by Environment Canada?s Weather office, Friday evening.

Locally heavy flurries in the area may become more organized this evening and tonight, forming snow squall bands. West winds will shift to the southwest. Snow squalls will shift with the winds, spreading snow over a wide area.
The primary hazards associated with snow squalls are very poor and fluctuating visibilities due to narrow bands of heavy snow and blowing snow, along with rapidly accumulating snow on roadways, resulting in dangerous driving conditions.
